ANSWERS, WITHOUT THE NOISE
Finance questions,
clearly explained.
A useful starting point for understanding this demonstration, our illustrative tools and common finance terminology.
Start a conversationWhat is the difference between principal and interest?
Principal is the amount borrowed. Interest is a charge for borrowing it. Our simplified calculators model principal-and-interest repayments; they do not include fees or changing rates.
Does a calculator result mean I can get a loan?
No. A calculator is an illustration using your inputs. It does not assess eligibility, affordability or a lender’s criteria, and it is not a quote or approval.
Is a lower repayment always a lower-cost loan?
No. A longer term can reduce a regular payment while increasing the total repaid. Compare the term, interest, fees and other conditions, not the repayment alone.
What costs should I ask about when reviewing a loan?
Ask about discharge, application, valuation, ongoing and any break costs that may apply. Our comparison tool only includes the one-off fee you enter. It does not estimate actual lender charges.
Where should I start as a first home buyer?
Start with questions about your deposit, likely purchase costs and what an ongoing commitment could look like. Eligibility and any local assistance require separate, current checks with appropriate professionals.
Does Oakmont predict property returns?
No. This demo discusses lending questions only. It does not forecast capital growth, rental returns, tax benefits or the suitability of an investment.
Can I explore working capital finance?
The business finance page illustrates questions about cash-flow timing and the purpose of funding. A real assessment would depend on the business, its obligations and the proposed finance.
Does the asset estimate include a balloon payment?
No. It assumes a fully amortising principal-and-interest loan with no balloon, deposit or fees. Real asset arrangements may work differently.
Is Oakmont an insurer?
No. Oakmont is a fictional portfolio brand, not an insurer or licensed financial service. Insurance content is a general demonstration of questions to discuss with an appropriately qualified professional.
Will my enquiry be sent to anyone?
No. The forms validate and prepare a demo summary in your browser only. Nothing is submitted, emailed or saved to local storage. Use fictional details and never enter sensitive information.
Are the advisers and client stories real?
No. All profiles, testimonials and case studies are fictional. Stock photographs are illustrative and do not depict actual Oakmont staff or customers.
